This game is seriously the best!!! My friend recommended it to me and I've played it over and over again. It made me laugh, cry, and just get all happy. It warmed my heart and I'm in love with the characters. I hope to get more content from the creators! We need more!!
Y'all did an amazing job, overall.

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS GAME! I just finished playing it on my channel and all i can say is... i want a sequel! It's so incredibly wonderful to see such real and positive lgbtq+ content like this, it warms my heart. Even if you don't make a sequel to this, keep making games, because the passion and spirit i feel from you is exactly what the gaming community needs. <3 -Dani Cobalt

This is literally the best game i have ever f*cking played like omg, i thought it was gonna be boring BUT AHHHHHHHHHH IM GAY FOR AKARSHA

(+1)(-19)

Not a big fan. I don't like the blatant racism. Also, the game was SUPER boring. I skipped everything after the baseball game playing as Diya. It was just.. boring. Not fun. Not realistic.

(+12)

...isnt the "blatant racism" there to point out how poc are treated in america and how poc respond in turn?

I literally live an hour from Oakland in a mostly Asian neighborhood, and everything the characters said and experienced was something that resonated with me and my friends. Every pale skinned Asian has to go through someone yelling ching chong or konichiwa at them, even if you are neither Chinese nor Japanese. All of us had faced similar pressure from parents, and when we talked back, we were told we were horrible, ungrateful children. We were taught that the freedom white parents gave their children in choosing a career was foolish and ill-advised. Have you just not experienced these things. making you believe it's fake?

THANK YOU

Ain't racist. It's actually really accurate, if a bit exaggerated at times.

this is??? the best sports anime-not-anime???? wow! 10/10 the coming-of-age story we need and deserve.

i can't help but think that i'd be happier sooner if this existed for me when i was a kid. you're changing lives bro! coming from an asian immigrant family, these characters were so relatable and through this very short time, i seem to have personally connected with them... how dare you make me feel things. thank you for bringing me to laughs and tears, but most of all to bringing to life these wonderful girls and their stories! heart emoji sparkle emoji heart emoji

Butterfly Soup is a great visual novel I enjoyed right off the bat (no pun intended) that there was quite a bit of interaction to be had by the player.  I don't want to spoil too much for ones who haven't played it. That's why my video is only 7 or so minutes long.

Hello there! I really enjoyed your games ^ ^

I would like to make a Vienamese translate! :p

Started playing this VN this afternoon after hearing so many good things about it (mostly that it contained gay asians like myself). I know nothing about what the story contains so I'm really excited to get through it! I'll be recording it as I go along. I'm not sure how long it is, but I plan to have ~30 minute segments. Can't wait to finally experience some gaysian representation! <3

Any game that makes me laugh and cry this much has to be perfect! Some of the best writing in a game I've seen in a long time with a story and characters that never let you forget them.

Loved this game from start to end, but something has been really bugging me for some time... Is this game mostly linear, and there are no other paths?...I mean, even though a lot of people ship NoelleAkarsha, or MinDiya, or both, I always shipped NoelleDiya..

I love seeing interesting pairings I haven't seen before, like MinDiya, but I also was interested in something like NoelleDiya. I wanted to see how something like that would come to be. I guess I also just loved how well they got along..Iono, something about the way they talked together just made me ship them. :) (Or maybe because they're my favourite characters, and I wanted to see them together??)

Also had another question, about the first line, I was kinda surprised when I read that everyone was Lez (Not Akarsha, since she's Bi, but still). I may have seen some parts where Noelle might have shown signs like that towards Diya, but I wasn't sure if I was reading too much into it.. So I wanted to ask when Noelle showed this during the game.

(This comment may have seemed like I wasn't satisfied, but most of the games events, the lovable characters, and the awesome humor that nearly kills me, makes this a beautiful game. 9.5/10, would play (Or Plread) again. :3 Also fine with anyone answering these. )

Bro like I'm fricking crying rn like this story, 10/10!!!! It had so many complex elements, it wasn't just a sports thing or a "coming out" thing like it made me excited and happy and sad and everything for so many different reasons. It had layers which is hard to come by with any genre of game, movie, book, etc. I swear that ending brought tears, actual tears, which were a mix of happiness and sadness because 1. This game brought me literal joy I really never wanted to stop I just felt so immersed and it was so relatable to me frfr because my now best friend I knew in fourth grade and she left tat summer following it and in my freshman year I met her again, and2. this is just amazing I was so sad at it ending. While it was lighthearted it also was very thought provoking and touched on some hard hitting issues with grace and eloquency. This obviously was made with tons of love and dedication, nothing seemed half done. The art style was honestly to die for, and all in all I just loveddddddd it! Please don't ever stop doing this because you just brought so much happiness to this gay af teen, and I literally just made an account to gush about all this!!!! Idk if you are making a Butterfly Soup 2 but it would be great if like there was a Noelle Akasha story romance line, even just a delve deeper into their friendship, because they just are soooo cute together!! Love you and this piece of art!!!

I love how this manages to deal with so many serious things while still being lighthearted and super funny.  I laughed so many times.

All the  characters are absolutely PeRFECT and I loved the hell out of your art.

This might be one of my new favorite VNs. Keep up the amazing work❤️

OMG I freaking love this game!! HOLY WACKY MOLEY KJHDKA I loved It! All tho I kinda wanted to see more lovey-dovey stuff XD And I'm kinda wondering if Noelle and Askash gets together?  Anyways LOVE IT!!! XD I ship Min and Diya TO MUCH!

LOVED THIS!!! Great job, thanks for the cool game :3

I generally loved this vn, never enjoyed one so much (apart from doki doki literature club), this was sweet and I generally got so upset when it had officially ended. I wish Noelle and Akasha got together tho, thats my ONLY complaint

This is a great visual novel!!!!!! I want to play it 999999 times more!  I do have one question, whats the name of the song that plays when akasha drops the trashcan on Noelle?? I want to make it my ringtone

I know I’m really late but i just wanted to let you know that this is one of the best if not the best game I have ever played! When I first saw it I expected it to just be another visual novel but it wasn’t. I wasn’t expecting this but i played it just a couple of days ago and can’t get it off my mind. I am SO excited for the sequel! Played it twice now so I’m going to buy it for five dollars just to get more.

This is...wow. Was genuinely disappointed when it ended.

The memes. The MEMES. This is the best visual novel I have ever played. I laughed so many times. I went down a fanfiction and fan art hole just minutes after finishing it because I love me the gays. Seriously the characterizations are the best. I especially love Noelle and I want to see more of all of them. This was so heartfelt while also full of jokes and honestly having Arkarsha on Min's shoulders on a skateboard was the best moment ever. I took a screencap so I can imagine it over again every time I find it again. I hope to see more with these characters in the future! Keep up the amazing work.

Wow! This VN  was an incredible experience. The dialogue and writing were completely smooth, and the artwork simple yet immersive. The characters were all so realistic, and (as many have said) relatable, and it was a great call to switch the perspectives so that we played each of the main characters individually. It definitely made for a balanced experience and helped the reader to love and understand each of them, resulting in Noelle and Akarsha gaining the importance they deserve to the storyline.

One thing I want to praise in particular is that the sexual orientation aspect was positive and natural, not like the old stories which were always about how terribly hard it is to be gay. (After all, in a supportive community, being gay or behaving outside prescribed gender roles doesn't have to be so hard.) It's enjoyable to read a story in which the focus is on how hard it is to be human, which is something everybody has in common. Maybe even more importantly,  it's also a story about how friendship and laughter and opening up emotionally can turn the hardships of humanity into beautiful life experiences.

After that bit of reflection, the take-away for me was a renewed feeling of respect and compassion for the courage and wisdom of childhood and adolescence, for surviving and supporting each other in their growth to young adulthood. Thank you for the creation of this beautiful novel.

I loved all the visual novel i was hoping it never ended. Can't wait to see what else this dev will bring! I wouldn't have probably bought if it weren't free cuz I didn't expect it to be so good and so long I admit, It might look amateur but it isn't. The storyline is really well developed. I ended up paying cuz it deserved it.

I am recomending this game to all my friends and also to you, reader!!!!

THIS GAME IS SO BEAUTIFUL! I was looking for a visual novel to play and I stumbled upon yours and gave it a chance.  So glad I did. The characters are relatable without it being forced. I feel like they're all just so lovable in their own ways. I can't say I have a favourite when each of them are so lovable and good gosh, this was one hell of a ride.  I can't really describe this, but it felt like I was actually looking at a relatively normal group of friends and their daily antics and well, I hope you produce more of these masterpieces. There's more I wanna say but I think I'll just ramble on and on about how great this is so I'll end it here.

I love this game so much, I was almost in tears when it ended.

*Some people are gay, Steven.

WOW, I relate to Min a lot. I'm a trans boy that went through all of the feelings Min displayed. The hatred for feminine clothing, the violence, the rebellion... My father is far too close to Min's, I'm afraid. I went through such a rough period, trying to find a balance between my attraction towards girls and my masculinity. I loved sports - baseball, actually. Basketball, too. Video games and "boy clothes." Identity was and is a struggle. To finally have a character in a game that I can identify with, that doesn't just get the easy and accepting road because most of us don't.. That's amazing.

I LOVE THIS! Like legit it's so real? I think I've played just a few too many otome games but literally I loved how the characters felt real and how it felt like I was watching this group of people (that are not fictional) lives. And it was so funny but had tones of seriousness that flowed together really well. Just the way is was written out was brilliant and the art was very pretty. And I just enjoyed it so much, 10/10 choked on my poptart in the first 10min of playing good.

I can't open it I download it then extract the zip file and enter the butterfly soup all file but it takes me to the contents that takes me to multiple other files and when I press on something is says I don't have the required application to open it what do i do?

This game was so beautiful and i related to it a lot, like a lot! I first heard about it when I watched Gloom play it and instantly fell in love! I'm a 14 year old lesbian,so I could relate to the coming of age stuff,as well as the gay aspect! Min and Akarsha combined are so much like my girlfriend!!! She's short, violent, funny, random, and my whole world! We think we will dress as Min and Diya for Halloween this year! Again thanks for making this amazing content! You've truly inspired me!
